Job Summary:
We are looking for a reliable and responsible Delivery Driver with a valid 4-wheeler driving license to join our logistics team. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring timely and safe delivery of goods to customers, maintaining the vehicle, and providing excellent customer service. This role involves daily route planning, product handling, and ensuring customer satisfaction by delivering items accurately and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities:
- Timely Deliveries:
- Safely deliver goods and packages to customers within the assigned delivery area.
- Plan and follow the most efficient routes to ensure timely deliveries while adhering to traffic and safety regulations.
- Load and unload products from the delivery vehicle, ensuring goods are handled carefully.
- Customer Service:
- Provide professional and friendly service to customers during deliveries.
- Confirm delivery details and obtain signatures or other proof of delivery as required.
- Handle any customer concerns or queries politely and report them to the supervisor if necessary.
- Vehicle Maintenance:
- Perform routine checks on the delivery vehicle, including fuel, tire pressure, oil, and overall condition.
- Report any vehicle issues or damages to the supervisor immediately.
- Keep the delivery vehicle clean and in proper working order at all times.
- Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain accurate delivery logs, including delivery times, locations, and customer information.
- Submit daily or weekly delivery reports to the Logistics Manager or Operations Supervisor.
- Ensure proper handling of cash on delivery (COD) transactions and secure payments when applicable.
- Compliance and Safety:
- Follow all road safety regulations, traffic laws, and company policies to ensure safe driving practices.
- Adhere to company safety standards when handling products, especially fragile or hazardous items.
- Ensure that all deliveries comply with company standards and local transportation regulations.
Qualifications:
- Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent (preferred).
- Experience:
- Prior experience as a delivery driver or in a logistics role (preferred but not required).
- License:
- Valid 4-wheeler driving license (required).
- Valid 2-wheeler driving license (required).
- Clean driving record with no major traffic violations.
- Skills:
- Good knowledge of the local area, roads, and traffic patterns.
- Basic understanding of GPS navigation systems and route planning tools.
- Strong time management and organizational skills.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills for customer interaction.
- Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift and carry heavy packages (up to [weight limit, e.g., 50 lbs]).
- Physically fit to load/unload goods and spend long hours driving.
Working Conditions:
- Extensive driving, both in urban and rural settings, with varying traffic conditions.
- Some early morning, late evening, or weekend shifts may be required, depending on delivery schedules.
- Regularly working in outdoor conditions (weather-related challenges).
