Responsibilities:
- Transporting Goods: Safely and efficiently transporting goods from one location to another.
Loading and Unloading
: Loading-unloading items onto their vehicle or mode of transportation, ensuring they are properly secured to prevent damage during transit.Route Planning
: Planning the most efficient route to ensure timely delivery of goods, considering factors like traffic, weather conditions, and delivery schedules.Customer Interaction: Interacting with customers in a professional and courteous manner, especially when delivering items directly to them. This may involve obtaining signatures, confirming delivery details, and addressing any customer concerns or inquiries.
- Documentation: Maintaining accurate records of deliveries, including tracking information, delivery receipts, and any issues encountered during transit.
Vehicle Maintenance
: Performing basic maintenance tasks on the delivery vehicle, such as checking fluid levels, tire pressure, and ensuring it is clean and in good working condition.Problem Solving
: Handling any issues or challenges that arise during delivery, such as traffic delays, vehicle breakdowns, or incorrect addresses.Time Management: Managing time effectively to meet delivery deadlines and schedules, often juggling multiple deliveries in a single trip.
- Communication: Maintaining communication with dispatchers, supervisors, and customers to provide updates on delivery status and address any concerns.
