A Demi Chef de Partie (DCDP) has many responsibilities, including:
- Food preparation: DCDPs prepare and cook food, and ensure that food is prepared to a high standard with minimal waste.
Kitchen management: DCDPs help to ensure that the kitchen runs smoothly, and may oversee the work of more junior chefs.- Training: DCDPs may train junior chefs in kitchen equipment, cookery techniques, and how to prepare certain dishes.
Menu development: DCDPs may assist senior chefs in developing new dishes for the menu.
- Health and safety: DCDPs are responsible for maintaining high standards of health and safety in the kitchen, including following food hygiene and cleanliness guidelines.
* Customer service: DCDPs may provide customer service to staff and customers.
