Database Architect / Engineer

Job Description

The Database Developer/ Architect is an integral member of the Server development and Architecture group. In this vital role you will work with application and enterprise architects to design future database application solutions for various products in the gaming domain, as well as analyze the current database solutions to identify areas of improvements. You will work with other leads and developers to ensure that the database architecture, design and development adhere to consistent architecture standards and best practices. You will conduct research on leading edge database technologies and identify their applicability to future products. Contribute to customer development, product evaluations and partnersrsquo technology integrations. Maintain a deep understanding of all our productsrsquo data models. To be successful in this role you need to have a firm understanding of database design, development, various database technologies including NoSQL technologies, highly scalable architectures, storage subsystems, backup technologies, enterprise application deployment and client- server technologies.

Required Skill Set & Experience

• 5 years of enterprise database design or architecture experience is required.


• Expertise in architecting, designing and developing MySQL or PostgreSQL backend databases in end- to- end enterprise applications


• Strong experience implementing data warehousing and business analytics


• Experience designing and deploying database reporting and monitoring tools


• Experience in large- scale (multi- terabyte) , scalable, highly available and reliable database architectures


• NoSQL database experience is a must.


• Strong knowledge with performance optimization and tuning with database applications is a MUST


• Experience in data security, capacity planning and failover procedures.


• Must be a self- starter with strong leadership qualities.


• Should have the ability to work well with aggressive deadlines and minimal supervision


• Excellent debugging and troubleshooting skills


• Good verbal and written communication skills


• A good team player

Desired Profile

• Experience of DBA for large scale solutions


• Percona cluster experience


• Experience of designing, developing and supporting databases for high performance/ available applications preferably in an agile environment
