nThe Role
nWithin our Database Administration team at Kyndryl, you'll be a master of managing and administering the backbone of our technological infrastructure. You'll be the architect of the system, shaping the base definition, structure, and documentation to ensure the long-term success of our business operations.
nYour expertise will be crucial in configuring, installing and maintaining database management systems, ensuring that our systems are always running at peak performance. You'll also be responsible for managing user access, implementing the highest standards of security to protect our valuable data from unauthorized access.

nIn addition, you'll be a disaster recovery guru, developing strong backup and recovery plans to ensure that our system is always protected in the event of a failure. Your technical acumen will be put to use, as you support end users and application developers in solving complex problems related to our database systems.

nAs a key player on the team, you'll implement policies and procedures to safeguard our data from external threats. You will also conduct capacity planning and growth projections based on usage, ensuring that our system is always scalable to meet our business needs.

nRequired Technical and Professional Experience
nExperience for about 9+ years as a Database Administrator or similar role, with expertise in one or more managing databases such as DB2, Oracle, PostgreSQL, MSSQL, MySQL, Sybase, MongoDB, Cosmos DB
nManage and maintain MS SQL databases, ensuring high availability, performance, and security.
nPerform routine database maintenance tasks such as backups, restoration, and disaster recovery planning.
nOptimize database performance by monitoring resource utilization, identifying and resolving bottlenecks, and tuning queries.
nImplement security measures, including user access controls, encryption, and vulnerability assessments.
nTroubleshoot and resolve database issues, such as performance problems, replication failures, and data corruption.
nCollaborate with developers to design and implement database schemas, indexes, and stored procedures.
nConfigure and integrate MS SQL databases with Data Bricks or Snowflake platforms.
nCollaborate with data engineers and data scientists to ensure smooth data ingestion and transformation processes.
nDevelop and maintain data pipelines and ETL workflows between MS SQL databases and Data Bricks or Snowflake platforms.
nMonitor and optimize data transfer and synchronization processes between the databases and analytics platforms.
nTroubleshoot and resolve integration issues, such as data inconsistencies or connectivity problems.
nPlan and execute database upgrades, patches, and version migrations in coordination with the infrastructure team.
nTest and validate database changes to ensure compatibility and minimize downtime.
nImplement database monitoring and alerting solutions to proactively identify potential issues and take corrective actions.
nStay updated with the latest industry trends and best practices related to MS SQL databases, Data Bricks, and Snowflake.
nPreferred Technical and Professional Experience
nBachelor Degree and above.
nExperience with cloud platforms such as Azure and knowledge of Azure database is a plus.
nAzure Certification Preferred.
nExcellent troubleshooting skills with the ability to diagnose and resolve complex issues in database environments.
