Database Administrator

Job Title: Database Administrator (DBA)

Location: Gurgaon

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Database Administrator (DBA) to manage and maintain our database systems, with a focus on Postgres, MongoDB, and Redis, with an emphasis on Postgres (70%). The ideal candidate will be responsible for database setup, monitoring, backup, and performance tuning while ensuring high availability and scalability in a fast-paced telecom environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Database Management:

- Install, configure, and maintain Postgres, MongoDB, and Redis databases, with a primary focus on Postgres.

- Perform regular backup and restore procedures to ensure data integrity and disaster recovery readiness.

- Set up and manage master-slave server settings for replication and high availability.

- Monitor database performance and troubleshoot issues using monitoring tools.

Database Maintenance:

- Run and analyze log commands to identify performance bottlenecks and potential issues.

- Perform disk space checking, cleaning up logs, and removing unnecessary files and folders.

- Manage archive folders to ensure efficient storage utilization and data retrieval.

Performance Tuning and Optimization:

- Identify and resolve long-running queries and optimize database performance.

- Apply DML operations and ensure efficient data manipulation at a table level.

- Set up temporary tables and manage schema configurations.

Monitoring & Reporting:

- Regularly generate and review reports on database sizes, table sizes, and performance metrics.

- Provide a comprehensive list of databases, tables, and corresponding sizes to monitor storage needs.

Scripting & Automation:

- Utilize PL/SQL or other scripting languages to automate routine tasks, enhance database management, and streamline processes.

Qualifications:

- Proven experience in managing Postgres, MongoDB, and Redis databases, with a strong emphasis on Postgres.

- Expertise in backup, restoration, and database setup processes.

- Proficiency in master-slave replication settings and performance monitoring.

- Knowledge of log commands, disk space management, archive folders, and long-running query optimization.

- Experience with DML operations, table-level settings, and database schema configurations.

- Strong skills in PL/SQL scripting and database automation.

Preferred:

- Experience working in the telecom industry or in large-scale production environments.

- Certification in relevant database technologies
