About The Team/Role
The WEX SQL Server Database Administrator will be responsible for the maintenance, performance, monitoring, and recoverability of the SQL database environments. This role will be part of a team which is responsible for the health and stability of the entire SQL Server Database platform.
How you'll make an impact
- Provide support for production databases including performance monitoring, daily management to prevent data loss, unplanned downtime or performance degradation.
- Install, administer, and maintain schema and data to ensure maximum availability.
- Analyzes and resolves problems associated with server hardware and application software.
- High level knowledge with SQL Server internals, database design, T-SQL, backup/restore, SSIS, security.
- Performance tuning and troubleshooting.
- Participates in a 24x7x365 OnCall Rotation.
- Experience in various SQL Server high availability and disaster recovery solutions like AlwaysON Availability group.
Experience you'll bring
- 3+ years of overall IT experience working.
- 3+ years of hands on SQL Server Database administration.
- 1-3 years experience with SQL Server Extended Events.
- Experience in Powershell scripting.
- 1-3+ years of managing SQL Server Database in Azure.
- 1-3+ years of hands-on experience with a data ingestion tool (ELT or ETL tools).
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, Engineering or related field.
- Knowledge and experience with industry standard change and incident management procedures.
- Self-starter capable of working independently or in groups.
