Location: We are a remote first organisation, so we don't mind where in India you are based.

Navigating the position: The Data Team Lead is a key role within the Tech Team, focused on overseeing and guiding data engineering and analytics efforts. In this position you will be responsible for leading a team of data professionals in developing and maintaining the data infrastructure, ensuring the efficient and effective management of data resources.

As the Data Team Lead, you will collaborate closely with various departments to align data strategies with business goals. Their main tasks will include managing data projects, leading the development of data pipelines, and ensuring the quality and integrity of data. Additionally, this role will play a crucial role in mentoring and developing the skills of team members.

This role requires a strong background in data technologies and leadership experience, particularly in an Agile environment. You will be instrumental in driving innovation in data processes and solutions, contributing significantly to the overall success of the technology initiatives.

Your Voyage Ahead:

• Team Leadership: Experience in leading data engineering teams with a focus on Agile methodologies. Ability to conduct performance reviews and foster personal development.
• Strategic Planning: Proficiency in developing and executing data strategy, aligning team goals with business objectives, and identifying improvement opportunities.
• Project Management: Skilled in overseeing multiple projects, managing risks, and ensuring timely and budget-compliant delivery. Experience in coordinating with various departments and stakeholders.
• Technical Leadership: Strong background in data engineering and analytics, with a commitment to keeping the team updated on the latest technologies and practices.
• Data Architecture: Expertise in designing and implementing data architectures, developing scalable data pipelines, and ensuring data integrity and compliance.
• Stakeholder Engagement: Excellent communication skills for regular interaction with stakeholders, presenting insights to senior management, and building organizational relationships.
• Innovation: A drive for innovation and continuous improvement, staying informed on industry trends, and integrating new technologies to enhance team performance.
• Mentoring: A commitment to mentoring team members, identifying training opportunities, and promoting a learning environment.

Recommended to bring on board:

• Educational Background: Degree in Computer Science, IT, Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, or related.
• Professional Experience: At least 10 years in Data & Analytics solution development.
• Leadership: Minimum 5 years leading Data Engineering teams.
• Technical Skills:
• Strong experience with ETL/ELT, data management, and query optimization.
• Proficient in cloud technologies, especially AWS.
• Skilled in scripting languages like Python.
• Experienced in CI/CD and source control (Liquibase, Jenkins preferred).
• Capable of modeling data for visualization tools (Power BI preferred).

Nice to Have:

• Familiarity with AWS Glue, RDS, Aurora, S3, Athena, EMR, PostgreSQL.
• Experience with Bitbucket, Liquibase, Jenkins, Octopus.
• Proficiency in QlikView, Tableau, or Power BI for data visualization.
