About the Role:

The Team -

The PETA Team (Private Equity, Traditional & Alternative Data Insights & Intelligence) within the Private Markets Cluster of the Data Organization is dedicated to enhancing and updating profiles for Limited Partners (LPs), General Partners (GPs), and both Buy Side and Sell Side firms. With a comprehensive global focus, we provide in-depth research, content, and analytics on public and private capital markets tailored for investment banks, investment managers, and alternative investment firms. Our team fosters strategic relationships with various investment firms to capture unique insights into investment strategies, exits, and market trends. Additionally, we actively monitor global industry publications and news aggregators, ensuring our insights remain timely and relevant.

Responsibilities and Impact -

  • Subject Matter Expertise (SME):
    • Serve as the SME for Private Markets asset classes, including PE/VC, Real Estate, Private Lending, Infrastructure, Natural Resources, and Hedge Funds.
    • Continuously update knowledge on trends, strategies, and investment behaviors.
    • Provide guidance to internal teams, leveraging insights to enhance client deliverables.
  • Data Collection Strategy & Execution:
    • Design and implement a robust data collection strategy across all asset classes.
    • Explore new data sourcing opportunities through partnerships and proprietary databases.
    • Lead initiatives to automate data collection, ensuring data accuracy and completeness.
  • Data Quality & Standardization:
    • Establish rigorous processes to maintain data quality and integrity.
    • Oversee standardization of methodologies for consistency across asset classes.
    • Conduct regular audits to validate data accuracy, meeting the firm's standards.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration:
    • Collaborate with Technology, Compliance, Research, and Investment Strategy teams to optimize data workflows.
    • Partner with Data Analysts and Research Teams to interpret data for insights and market research.
    • Engage with external stakeholders, including asset managers and institutional investors, to enhance data efforts.
    • Develop outreach capabilities to optimize forums like FOIA and gather information from private market players.
  • Process Improvement & Innovation:
    • Drive initiatives for continuous improvement in data management and reporting.
    • Introduce advanced technologies and best practices to enhance data efficiency.
    • Lead projects aimed at scaling data operations, considering global market expansion.
  • Reporting & Insights:
    • Develop comprehensive reports and dashboards highlighting key data trends and insights.
    • Assist in creating client-ready presentations to support business decisions.
    • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements in data management.

Basic Required Qualifications -

  • Master's degree in Finance, Economics, Data Science, or related field.
  • Expertise in data mining (Extraction + Collection) and analysis.
  • Understanding of private markets and asset classes.
  • Proficiency in SQL, Alteryx, AI, and Business Intelligence (BI) tools.

Additional Preferred Qualifications -

  • Experience in handling alternative asset class data or related financial markets.
  • Proficiency in advanced data visualization tools.
  • Familiarity with machine learning applications in finance.
  • Previous experience (Minimum 3-5+ years) in a similar role within a global company.
