The Data Science Faculty member will contribute to the academic and research excellence of EDURE by providing high-quality instruction in data science, conducting innovative research, and engaging in departmental and institutional service activities. The ideal candidate will demonstrate expertise in data science, a commitment to teaching and mentoring students, and the ability to drive impactful research.
Teaching and Instruction:- Deliver high-quality lectures, seminars, and workshops in data science and related areas such as machine learning, big data analytics, and statistical modeling.
Develop and update course materials, syllabi, and assignments to reflect current trends and technologies in data science.- Assess and evaluate student performance through exams, projects, and other assessments.
Create an inclusive and engaging learning environment that promotes student participation and success.
- Research and Scholarly Activities:
Conduct cutting-edge research in data science, including but not limited to machine learning, artificial intelligence, data mining, and statistical analysis.- Publish research findings in reputable, peer-reviewed journals and present at academic conferences.
Seek external funding through grants and research proposals to support research activities.
- Collaborate with colleagues and contribute to interdisciplinary research initiatives.
Advising and Mentoring:
- Provide academic advising and mentorship to undergraduate and graduate students in data science.
Supervise student research projects, theses, and dissertations.
- Support student development and career planning through individual guidance and professional networking.
Departmental and Institutional Service:
- Participate in departmental meetings, committees, and faculty activities.
Contribute to curriculum development, program assessment, and accreditation processes.
- Engage in community outreach and institutional service activities, including collaboration with industry and research institutions.
Professional Development:
- Stay abreast of advancements in data science and incorporate new knowledge into teaching and research.
Attend workshops, conferences, and other professional development opportunities to enhance expertise and network with professionals in the field.
