Junior Data Scientist

About the Role:
We are looking for a passionate and skilled Junior Data Scientist to join our remote team. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in data science, data pipeline development, and data analysis. This role involves working with various data sources, building and maintaining data pipelines, and developing models to derive actionable insights.
Key Responsibilities:
Data Pipeline Development:
- Design, develop, and maintain data pipelines using Azure Data Factory.
- Ensure data is collected, transformed, and loaded efficiently from various sources to data storage solutions.
Data Analysis and Modeling:
- Analyze complex datasets to derive actionable insights.
- Develop and implement statistical models and algorithms to solve business problems.
- Assist in building predictive models and machine learning algorithms.
Data Management:
- Maintain and optimize data storage solutions, ensuring data integrity and accessibility.
- Implement data governance and quality measures.
Collaboration:
- Work closely with data engineers, analysts, and other stakeholders to understand data requirements and deliver solutions.
- Provide technical support and training to team members on data-related processes and tools.
Reporting and Visualization:
- Develop and maintain dashboards and reports to communicate findings to non-technical stakeholders.
- Use tools like Power BI or similar for data visualization.
Qualifications:
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Information Technology, Statistics, or a related field.
Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in Azure Data Factory and experience with cloud-based data solutions.
- Strong knowledge of SQL for data manipulation and query optimization.
- Experience with programming languages such as Python or R.
- Familiarity with data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI).
- Basic understanding of machine learning algorithms and statistical methods.
Soft Skills:
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical thinking skills.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to explain complex concepts to non-technical audiences.
- Team-oriented with strong collaboration skills.
- Eagerness to learn and adapt to new technologies and methodologies.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with other Azure services like Azure Data Lake, Azure Synapse Analytics, or Azure Databricks.
- Experience in data warehousing and ETL processes.
- Knowledge of big data technologies such as Hadoop or Spark.
- Certification in Microsoft Azure Data Engineering or related fields.
