Allied Mineral Products is a global leader in refractories manufacturing. We are looking for a
Data Scientist to join our Business Intelligence team. You will play a key role in helping us achieve analytics maturity as you analyze large amounts of raw information to find patterns that will help improve our company. We will rely on you to build data products to extract valuable business insights.
In this role, you should be highly analytical with a knack for analysis, math, and statistics. Critical thinking and problem-solving skills are essential for interpreting data. We also want to see a passion for machine learning and research.
Responsibilities:
- Interpret data, analyze results using statistical techniques, and provide ongoing reports
- Develop and implement databases, data collection systems, data analytics, and other strategies that optimize statistical efficiency and quality
- Execute analytical experiments methodically to help solve various problems and make a true impact across various domains and business units
- Identify, analyze, and interpret trends or patterns in complex data sets
- Locate and define new process improvement opportunities
- Identify relevant data sources and sets to mine, and collect large structured and unstructured datasets and variables
- Devise and utilize algorithms and models to mine big data stores, perform data and error analysis to improve models, and clean and validate data for uniformity and accuracy
- Implement analytical models into production by collaborating with software developers
Qualifications:
- Technical expertise regarding data models, database design development, data mining and segmentation techniques
- Knowledge of statistics and experience using statistical packages for analyzing datasets (Excel, SPSS, SAS etc)
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy
- Adept at queries, report writing, and data visualization
- Good knowledge of R, Python, and MATLAB
- BS in Mathematics, Economics, Computer Science, Data Science, Information Management or Statistics
- Minimum of 3 year of practical experience in a Data Scientist role
- Advanced pattern recognition and predictive modeling experience
- Excellent written and verbal communication English language skills
- Must be willing to work 2.30 pm – 11.30 pm IST
