Key Responsibilities
- Given a new dataset, visualise statistical patterns and investigate the feasibility of model development
- Design and deploy supervised models from the datasets, including classical logic and rule-based systems where appropriate
- Analyze large datasets to extract actionable insights and support data-driven decision-making.
- Collaborate with data engineers, analysts, and other stakeholders to understand data needs and deliver solutions that meet business requirements.
- Be able to work locally and in AWS depending on the data connectivity and compute requirements
- Document progress and write confluence documentation for models, their purpose, and examples of usage
Qualifications
Experience: 5+ years of experience as a Data Scientist or in a similar role.
Technical Skills:
- Excellent core python skills, including object oriented programming
- Strong usage of data science python libraries such as XGBoost, SKLearn, LiteGBM, Matplotlib and others
- Practical experience with AWS Lambda as a compute option for deployed code
- Familiarity with machine learning algorithms and data analysis techniques.
Analytical Skills :
Ability to analyze complex datasets and provide meaningful insights.
Problem-Solving: Strong troubleshooting skills to resolve issues in data pipelines and workflows.
Collaboration: Excellent teamwork skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
Adaptability: Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with evolving requirements.
Preferred Skills
- Familiarity with additional AWS services and cloud-based data solutions.
- Experience with other AWS cloud compute options such as EC2 and ECS/EKS.
- Understanding of data security and compliance best practices.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Proven ability to manage multiple tasks and deliver high-quality results within deadlines.
