Job Description
- Assure consistent quality of Software Applications production through the development and enforcement of robust Automated Software QE strategy, practices, and processes.
- Perform comprehensive data testing and validation, incorporating techniques such as SQL queries and ETL tool proficiency.
- Develop and execute test cases for data pipelines and ETL processes.
- Leverage your expertise in Google Cloud Platform (GCP) to optimize data testing processes.
- Work with GCP services, including BigQuery, Dataflow, and other relevant tools or any other cloud platforms.
- Knowledge of how Kafka or any other steaming platform integrates with other streaming technologies to create end-to-end data pipelines.
- Apply knowledge of Kubernetes and Docker to enhance data testing processes. (Advantage)
- Perform data comparisons between different releases using ETL tools, SQL.
- Research and report anomalies within the data.
- Write and optimize SQL queries for data validation, analysis, and reporting.
- Interpret complex data structures and perform database queries.
- Contribute to the implementation of continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) processes for efficient and automated data testing.
- Collaborate with project, business, and quality engineering teams to develop detailed automated scripts and test frameworks.
- Collaborate closely with development teams to understand data changes, enhancements, and updates.
- Ensure content and structure of testing artifacts are documented and maintained.
- Maintain and report test coverage matrix for the application.
- Devise regression testing approach.
The Successful Applicant
- 6-9 years of experience.
- Good understanding of OOPS concepts and strong programming skills in Java, Groovy, or JavaScript.
- Proven experience in data testing and quality assurance.
- Hands-on experience with any cloud platforms such as Google Cloud Platform (GCP), preferably in data-related services.
- Understanding of different data streaming technologies and frameworks.
- Understanding of data governance principles in the context of streaming data.
- Experience in ensuring data quality, reliability, and security in streaming pipelines.
- Knowledge of Kubernetes and Docker is an advantage.
- Proficient in writing and optimizing SQL queries.
- Familiarity with database structures, queries, and data validation techniques.
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail for identifying data discrepancies.
- Understanding and practical experience in implementing CI/CD processes for data pipelines.
- Ability to work collaboratively with development teams, product managers, and other stakeholders.
- Hands-on experience in parsing complex JSON & XML and data validation.
- Good understanding of BDD, TDD methodologies, and tools like Cucumber, TestNG, Junit, or similar.
- Working experience on building tools Maven / Gradle, Git, etc.
- Possess domain knowledge to identify issues across those domains, understand their impact, and drive resolution (familiar/expert in domains like retail banking, automobile, insurance, betting, food markets, hotel industry, healthcare).
- Knowledge of new tools (open source & licensed) in the automation world and have the knack to explore them and keep abreast with the latest tools in the market.
- Expertise in creating test automation frameworks, implementing and maintaining them on a project.
- Experience in test management tools like Xray & Zephyr and integration of the test framework with these tools.
- Possess excellent communication skills (written, verbal both formal & informal).
- Quick grasping and flexibility to adapt to new technologies/processes.
- Ability to multitask under pressure and work independently with minimal supervision. i.e. Ability to prioritize when under pressure.
