About The Role
As an Underwriting Data Operations Associate, you will play a critical role in shaping the future of life insurance underwriting. Your primary focus will be on developing and refining underwriting rules that are pivotal to our state-of-the-art life insurance underwriting engine. Additionally, you will contribute to the labeling of ground truth data, which is essential for our predictive underwriting models. Your work will have a direct impact on our customers, partners and our overall business, and you will play a key role in some of the exciting transformation projects that are underway.
Duties And Responsibilities
- Investigate accounts to identify fraudulent insurance agents, customer accounts, payment risk, and other fraud vectors
- Conduct investigations on customer accounts to support insurance partner requirements
- Assess risk factors and trends of potential fraudulent activity
- Help maintain fraud detection strategies and business rules that balance fraud loss and customer experience
- Contribute to root cause analysis to identify opportunities to predict, prevent, and mitigate risk within process and performance
- Participate in bi-weekly, monthly and quarterly business reviews for the broader risk management team
Qualifications And Skills
- Some experience in fraud analysis, fraud investigations, or fraud operations
- Experience using data to make assessments/judgements
- A growth mindset, curiosity to learn and a team-focused mentality with effective problem solving skills
- The ability to approach challenges from a user perspective while being pragmatic & solutions oriented
- Fraud experience in payments, e-commerce, fintech or insurtech mitigating financial or insurance risk and/or fraud
- Knowledge of e-commerce or payment or insurance fraud schemes, fraud prevention methods, and fraud detection tools
- Prior fraud experience across multiple industries/verticals
- Experience in a high growth technology company
- Experience working from a queue
