Job Title: Data Modeler
Job Description:
We are seeking a skilled Data Modeler to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in dimensional modeling, Data Vault, and ER modeling, coupled with experience in data modeling tools such as Erwin or SQL DBM. You will be responsible for all aspects of data modeling, including conceptual, logical, and physical design, deployment across various environments, version control, and adherence to naming conventions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Utilize expertise in dimensional modeling, Data Vault, and ER modeling to design and develop effective data models.
- Proficiency in data modeling tools such as Erwin or SQL DBM to support all stages of data modeling, from conceptualization to deployment.
- Collaborate with Data Analysis, Product Owners, and Power BI team to understand requirements and develop suitable data models to meet business needs.
- Ensure compliance with DWH architecture principles, Data Governance standards, data security protocols, and data quality practices.
- Conduct data profiling, mapping, and ensure seamless migration from Oracle to AWS and AWS to Snowflake using tools like DBT.
- Provide support to build and mentor a team of data modelers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in dimensional modeling, Data Vault, and ER modeling.
- Proficiency in data modeling tools such as Erwin or SQL DBM.
- Strong understanding of data analysis requirements and ability to translate them into effective data models.
- Knowledge of DWH architecture, Data Governance, data security, data profiling & quality, and data mapping.
- Experience with migration from Oracle to AWS and AWS to Snowflake using DBT is a plus.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.
- Minimum of 10 - 20 years of experience in data modeling and database design.
- Certification in data modeling or related field is desirable.
