Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly experienced Data Governance Specialist to join our team. The successful candidate will have a strong background in data governance, data management, and data quality, with a minimum of 10 years of experience in a related field. The Data Governance Specialist will be responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining data governance policies, procedures, and standards across the organization. This includes ensuring data quality, security, privacy, and compliance with regulatory requirements. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work closely with various stakeholders across the organization.
Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and maintain data governance policies, procedures, and standards across the organization.
- Ensure data quality, security, privacy, and compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with various stakeholders across the organization to identify and document data governance requirements.
- Conduct data quality assessments and develop recommendations for improvement.
- Develop and maintain data governance training programs and materials.
- Provide guidance and support to data owners, data custodians, and data users on data governance policies and procedures.
- Monitor and audit data management practices to ensure compliance with data governance policies and procedures.
- Develop and maintain data governance metrics and reporting.
- Stay up to date with industry trends and best practices in data governance and data management.
- Collaborate with IT and data management teams to ensure data governance requirements are integrated into data management systems and processes.
- Provide input and guidance on data governance-related projects and initiatives.
- Participate in data governance-related working groups and committees.
Requirements:
- At least 10 years of experience in data governance, data management, or a related field.
- Strong understanding of data governance principles, policies, and procedures.
- Experience developing and implementing data governance policies and procedures.
- Strong knowledge of data quality, security, and privacy principles and practices.
- Experience conducting data quality assessments and developing recommendations for improvement.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work closely with various stakeholders across the organization.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
- Strong understanding of industry trends and best practices in data governance and data management.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
- Certification in data governance, data management, or a related field.
- Experience working in a regulated industry, such as healthcare or finance.
- Experience working with data governance tools and technologies.
- Experience working with cloud-based data management systems.
- Experience working with data management and data governance frameworks, such as ITIL, COBIT, or DAMA.
