Job Description
Key Responsibilities
- Define business-friendly names for databases, tables and columns in our data & analytics environment
- Review and ensure clarity of data descriptions and sample data
- Categorize data types and identify appropriate search tags
- Ensure consistency of terminology across the company as new data fields are named and business terms defined
- Identify and define new business terms for the glossary, and link to appropriate metadata entries
- Facility with translating technical terms into business-friendly language
- Participate in daily team meetings (scrum meeting) and collaborate with team members
- Partner with Business Solution Analysts to ensure business subject matter experts are engaged in data definitions
- Ability to quickly learn new electronic information management systems
- Provide input on enhancing user experience in finding and understanding data
- Monitor adoption and usage of information management system
Minimum Qualifications
- Strong technical writing and written communication skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel
- Strong attention to detail
- Two years experience in technical writing, information management, and/or library sciences
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Information and Library Science
- Experience developing or maintaining data catalogs, business glossaries or technical dictionaries
- Information management experience including cataloging, classification, dissemination and information literacy
