IIT Kanpur Development Foundation (IITK DF) is a Section 8 not-for-profit company established by IIT Kanpur to engage with external stakeholders like Alumni, corporations, Foundations, and Philanthropists in India and across the globe and to raise funds to meet its long-term growth aspirations. Such offices are called development offices in universities of global repute and usually have a staffing of 1 for every 1,000 alumni.
IITKDF seeks to appoint a database management leader and a change agent, as defined below:
Position: Manager, CRM and Database
Location: IIT Kanpur Development Foundation (IITKDF), Kanpur
Reporting to: Vice President, Operations and Alumni Relations
Responsibilities and Expectations
- Hands-on knowledge of Zoho CRM and custom-built applications.
- Enriching alumni data Clean, transform, and analyze data from various sources.
- Ensuring that the organizational CRM database is maintained, integrated, and kept up to date with the latest enhancements and versions.
- Partner with stakeholders across the organization to understand business needs and objectives.
- Design and implement effective data collection, analysis, and reporting processes.
- Protecting data by developing data security and restoration policies, procedures, and controls.
- Documenting processes and complying with best practices in database management.
- Apply statistical methods and machine learning techniques to identify trends, patterns, and relationships in data.
- Keeping up to date with developments and trends in database management.
- Creating protocols for data entry, monitoring, and updating.
- Translate complex data findings into clear and concise reports and presentations.
- Develop and present actionable insights and recommendations supported by data visualizations and compelling narratives.
- Performing other duties as necessary to achieve the goals of the organization.
Desired Profile
- The candidate must have a bachelor's or master's degree in a data-related field (statistics, computer science, or business analytics) or equivalent experience with a strong quantitative background.
- Minimum of 34 years of experience in database management.
- a proven track record of successfully leading and executing complex data analysis projects.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to think strategically and creatively.
- Proficiency in data analysis tools and technologies (e.g., Power BI, SQL, Python, R, Tableau), statistical software packages, or any other tool to present data in a graphical view.
- Experience in a specific industry relevant to the organization.
- Experience with cloud-based data platforms and tools.
- S/he must be willing to relocate for this position.
- S/he should be a team player with high energy and willing to work in a start-up environment.
