As the Data Engineering Manager at Torry Harris, you will be responsible for leading a team of data engineers to design, build, and maintain our data infrastructure. You will work closely with our data scientists and analysts to understand their data needs and ensure that our data ecosystem is optimized for performance, scalability, and reliability.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead a team of data engineers to develop and maintain our data infrastructure, including GCP and Azure data pipelines, ETL processes, and data warehousing solutions
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand data requirements and define technical solutions to meet those needs
- Work closely with data scientists and analysts to ensure that our data infrastructure supports their research and analysis needs
- Monitor and optimize the performance of our data infrastructure to ensure scalability and reliability
- Stay current with industry best practices and emerging technologies in data engineering, and provide recommendations for how to incorporate them into our data ecosystem
Key Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
- 10+ years of experience in data engineering, with at least 2 years in a leadership or management role
- Strong proficiency with data engineering tools and technologies, such as Apache Hadoop, Spark, Kafka, and SQL databases
- Experience with cloud-based data platforms, such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud
- Solid understanding of data modeling, ETL, and data warehousing concepts
- Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to mentor and develop a team of data engineers
