Data Engineer

Responsibilities of the role

Aid in the establishment, configuration, and upkeep of Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and other cloud services.

Monitor the cloud infrastructure for performance and security issues, taking proactive measures to address any concerns.

Work in conjunction with senior engineers to design and deploy scalable and dependable cloud solutions.

Troubleshoot and rectify technical problems related to cloud services and applications.

Assist in the application of security best practices to safeguard cloud resources and data.

Participate in regular backup and disaster recovery planning and testing.

Stay abreast of the latest trends and advancements in cloud technologies.

Document procedures and configurations to facilitate knowledge sharing within the team.

Provide technical support and assistance stakeholders.

What you will need

Understanding of cloud computing concepts and technologies, with a keen interest in Google Cloud Platform (GCP).

Familiarity with cloud service providers, such as Microsoft Azure, AWS, or GCP, is advantageous.

• Proficient programming skills in one or more languages (preferably Python).
• Familiar with containerisation tools such as Docker.
• Experience using batch data workflow tools such as Airflow.
• Comfortable working in an agile environment.

Understanding of networking fundamentals, including TCP/IP, DNS, and VPN.

Strong problem-solving abilities and the capacity to work effectively in a team.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Eagerness to learn and adapt to new technologies.

Ability to hit the ground running and quickly adapt to new tasks.
