Job Description :
We are seeking a highly experienced and motivated Technical Manager to lead our team in the design, installation, and maintenance of structured cabling and network infrastructure. You will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of our low-voltage systems, including structured cabling systems, network devices (routers, switches, hubs), and communication protocols. You will ensure our infrastructure meets industry standards, optimizes network performance, and supports the growing needs of our organization.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage a team of technicians responsible for structured cabling installation, testing, and maintenance.
- Develop and implement technical standards and procedures for structured cabling and network infrastructure.
- Design and oversee the installation of new structured cabling systems, ensuring compliance with industry standards (e.g., TIA/EIA-568).
- Configure, install, and maintain network devices such as routers, switches, and hubs.
- Troubleshoot and resolve network connectivity issues.
- Manage network documentation, including cabling diagrams, equipment configurations, and network topology.
- Stay up-to-date on the latest technologies and trends in structured cabling and networking.
- Collaborate with other departments, such as IT and Facilities, to ensure seamless integration of network infrastructure.
- Develop and maintain budgets for materials and equipment.
- Conduct training sessions for technicians on new technologies and procedures.
- Ensure adherence to safety regulations and protocols.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in structured cabling and network infrastructure management.
- Proven experience in designing, installing, and maintaining low-voltage systems.
- Strong understanding of structured cabling standards (e.g., TIA/EIA-568).
- In-depth knowledge of network protocols (TCP/IP, OSI model) and network devices (routers, switches, hubs).
- Experience with network troubleshooting and diagnostics.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- A valid driver's license is preferred.
- Added Advantage : Certifications in structured cabling (RCDD, BICSI) and networking (CCNA, CCNP) are a plus.
