Aptean is seeking an experienced, hands-on and outcome driven Data Architect professional to drive our data architecture initiatives and ensure the scalability, reliability, and efficiency of our data infrastructure. As a Data Architect, you will play a critical role in designing and implementing robust data architectures that support our business objectives and enable data-driven decision-making across the organization. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of data architecture principles, extensive experience with data modeling, and the ability to design and implement scalable data platform.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide architectural leadership for technology solutions, data architectures, data lakes, data platform and infrastructure initiatives.
- Developing and maintaining data lake and data warehouse schematics, layouts, architectures and relational/non-relational databases for data access and Advanced Analytics.
- Design and execute the build of data ecosystems in cloud to support a Data Lake-House architecture.
- Design and develop ELT processes to extract, load, and transform data from various sources into data repositories.
- Build efficient data integrations between on-prem/cloud-based systems, for high volume data sources
- Integrate disparate data models across an organization into one enterprise-wide Unified Data Platform.
- Define and implement data modeling standards, ensuring consistency, integrity, and optimization of data structures.
- Design functional database objects, build entity relationships and produce documentation necessary for catalog and governance of data models.
- Evaluate and recommend new technologies, tools, and frameworks to enhance our data architecture and data platform.
- Partner with business stakeholders to understand their data requirements and translate them into actionable solutions that drive business value.
- Drive initiatives to improve data quality, accuracy, and reliability through data profiling, cleansing, and validation processes.
- Self-driven, naturally curious, and able to adapt to a fast-paced work environment.
- Be able to articulate, create, and maintain technical and non-technical documentation.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Competencies
- Minimum of 12+ years of experience in data architecture, database design, and data modeling.
- Proven track record of designing and implementing complex data architectures using modern technologies such as cloud platforms (e.g., Azure), big data technologies (e.g., Snowflake), and distributed computing frameworks.
- Hands-on experience with designing and implementing batch and real time-data pipelines, using integration tools and ETL/ELT processes.
- Expertise in guiding, implementing and operationalizing AI/ML models using cloud tools such as SageMaker, Databricks etc.
- Extensive experience with relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL), NoSQL databases.
- Strong proficiency in data modeling techniques (e.g., ER modeling, dimensional modeling) and data modeling tools.
- Experience in advanced Data Warehouse concepts
- Hands-on experience building data solutions in Azure Cloud.
- Solid understanding of data governance principles, data security best practices, and regulatory compliance requirements (e.g., GDPR, CCPA).
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot complex data issues and optimize performance.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and influence decision-making at all levels of the organization.
- Certifications in relevant technologies (e.g. Microsoft Certified: Azure Data Engineer) is a plus.
