Introduction:
We are seeking an experienced Data Architect to lead the design and implementation of data solutions for a Healthcare product. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in data architecture within healthcare systems, with an in-depth understanding of Medicaid processes and data requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and develop a comprehensive data strategy for MMIS, ensuring alignment with Medicaid policies and compliance with state and federal regulations.
- Architect robust, scalable, and secure data models to support MMIS functionalities including claims processing, eligibility checks, provider management, and health information exchanges.
- Collaborate with system architects, developers, and analysts to integrate data solutions within the broader MMIS infrastructure.
- Lead the migration of data from legacy systems to modern data platforms, ensuring data integrity and minimal disruption to services.
- Optimize data flow and data storage to enhance system performance and support real-time data processing needs.
- Implement data governance practices, including data quality, metadata management, and data security protocols to ensure privacy and compliance with HIPAA and other regulations.
- Provide expertise in data technologies and advise on the selection of database management systems, data warehousing solutions, and cloud-based data services.
- Develop and maintain documentation related to data architectural standards, decisions, and models.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years experience in data architecture, preferably in healthcare
- Strong understanding of Medicaid operations and the data needs of MMIS.
- Proficient in data modeling techniques and tools, with experience in both SQL and NoSQL databases.
- Experience with modern data platforms like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud, and familiarity with ETL tools.
- Knowledge of data security and privacy practices pertinent to healthcare data, including HIPAA regulations.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
Desirable Skills:
- Certifications in data architecture, database management, or healthcare IT.
- Experience with Agile development methodologies.
