Overall Purpose of The Job
This role delivers globally consistent crew planning with strong focus on proactive workforce management for assigned fleet and crew cells.
The incumbent is responsible for the flawless delivery of operational planning responsibilities including working closely with CMPs in assigned fleets and colleagues in Crewing Operations,
Key Responsibilities and Tasks
Ensures an effective crew rotation plan is maintained for the vessels of the assigned fleet. Such plan should be consistent with global planning guidelines and principles.
Identifies candidates for open positions in the own fleet crew pool, Open pool of V.Ships and collaborates with the recruitment department for crew sourcing externally. Escalate critical vacancies to GPM.
Communicates and agrees the rotation plan with seafarers and ensures the plan is executed as agreed.
Maintains crew pool strength and manages its size as needed for the fleet, which includes moving excess crew to the Open pool or transferring to other fleets.
Supports takeovers of vessels in other fleets by identifying possible transfers of seafarers between the crew pools.
Works digitally by using ShipSure, V.Crew Connect, Dundas reports and other digital tools as per the defined process.
Proactively builds career progression plans for seafarers.
Monitors officers performance according to appraisals, identify required training needs.
Proactively identifies crew retention risks and issues and works with appropriate stakeholders (GPM, CMP) to mitigate the risks and address issues (shortage of crew, changes in local crew market, SFs conditions of service as per debriefings with seamen)
Collaborates proactively with CMPs in assigned fleets and on ensuring that flawless service is consistently delivered to customers.
Assists CMP with budget preparation, providing comments on wage part, RB, SOP benefits.
Provides feedback on further development opportunities for ShipSure and other relevant crew processes.
Diligently uses ShipSure as system of record for all planning activities such as proposing candidates, creating recruitment requests and releases excess sea farers.
Manages urgent/sudden cases of vacancies on assigned vessels via utilisation of the wider V. pool of seafarers

Essential
Minimum 3 years of relevant crewing experience
Able and willing to learn and develop new skills
Strong knowledge of ShipSure and planning tools functionality
Excellent analytical and numerical reasoning skills
Proven ability to use data and analysis to guide and influence decision making, strong attention to detail.
An effective and positive communicator and team player (influencing, negotiating skills)
Ability to prioritize and work under pressure.
Desirable
Previous onboard experience in an officer's rank.
Strong knowledge of ShipSure and planning tools functionality
