The Income Auditor is responsible for verifying and recording all hotel revenues, ensuring accuracy in daily income reports, and maintaining internal control standards. The role involves daily auditing, financial analysis, and identifying discrepancies to safeguard the hotel's financial integrity.
Job Requirements.Key Responsibilities.:
1. .Daily Revenue Verification.
- Audit daily revenue from various departments including rooms, food & beverage, spa, and other hotel services.
- Reconcile revenue with front office systems, POS (Point of Sale), and other revenue-generating outlets.
- Ensure all revenue is accurately recorded in the system and investigate any discrepancies.
2. .Income Control & Reporting.
- Generate daily income reports and submit them to the Financial Controller/Finance Manager.
- Verify cash deposits, credit card payments, and bank transfers against recorded revenue.
- Review night audit reports for accuracy and completeness, ensuring compliance with hotel policies.
3. .Internal Auditing.
- Conduct regular audits on cash handling procedures, ensuring compliance with company policies.
- Verify all revenue adjustments and discounts are appropriately approved and documented.
- Check for any irregularities or suspicious transactions and report to the relevant authorities.
4. .Financial Compliance.
- Ensure that revenue records are in compliance with company policies and local tax regulations.
- Prepare financial reports and summaries as required for monthly, quarterly, and yearly audits.
- Support external audits by providing documentation and explanations as required.
5. .Documentation and Record Keeping.
- Maintain accurate records of all revenue transactions, audits, and adjustments.
- Archive reports and data for easy retrieval during internal or external audits.
- Prepare and file documentation in a systematic manner for future reference.
6. .Coordination and Communication.
- Coordinate with the front office, food & beverage, and other departments to resolve discrepancies.
- Provide training to staff on revenue recognition policies and income auditing procedures.
- Support other finance team members with month-end and year-end closing activities.
.Requirements.:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (preferred).
- 2-3 years of experience in hotel finance or auditing, ideally in the hospitality industry.
- Strong knowledge of hotel systems (PMS, POS) and financial software.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- High attention to detail and integrity in handling sensitive financial information.
