About The Role
The Specialist Supplier Quality provides subject matter expertise within the area of QA/QC at suppliers premises to ensure that all raw material & packaging material supplied by the vendors are within the specification tolerance limit and improve the consistency in Quality of RM/PM.
What you will be doing
- Develop the specifications of all the RM and PM, implement at suppliers premises.
- Find the gap in supplier/vendor manufacturing process and fill the gaps.
- Increase the awareness about the need and expectations about Quality among suppliers of Orica.
- Act as change management for cultural change at suppliers premises.
- Assure that raw material and packaging material provided is fit to purpose, consistent, and meets internal and external requirements including legal requirements and internal/external customers expectations.
- Develop cost effective solutions in quality, safety and process performance ensuring that the effort and cost of achieving engineering safety and quality is commensurate with risk.
- Adequate and effective communication with suppliers, customers and Internal and External stakeholders regarding complaints, quality issues, expectations, delivery standards and actions to solve each nonconformity.
- Develop and implement a strategy (training plan, training materials, techniques, tools, Alerts & Snippets systems) as the SME where applicable (Subject Matter Expert) in order to assure that suppliers deliver material as per the specification.
- Lead the site in process improvement (MPI) strategies and One Manufacturing implementation, developing, and implementing LEAN & Six Sigma thinking methodologies (5S, Kaizen, A3s, VSM, work & time studies, etc.) across Manufacturing process.
- Assist Quality Manager on improvement idea generation and execution in collaboration with production plant owners, to guarantee all personal is aware of performance and information is showed in a standard manner through the plant.
- Develop and maintain knowledge and skills by networking and collaboration with other relevant Quality, Technology and Product line Leaders globally and regionally.
- Manages and supports implementation of Quality Management System according to ISO 9001 at supplies premises.
- Develop the test methods for critical hazardous Chemicals and raw materials.
- Demonstrate and instill a fundamental commitment to all Quality & SHE standards. Identify and evaluate all the major hazards of operations, as well as participate in critical controls and risk mitigation activities. Act as a role model in Quality & Safety-related behaviors.
- Contribute to the incidents (including process safety incidents) investigation and participate in the action plan implementation to reinforce a Safety Culture at Plants.
- Develop and train lab operators on daily sample analysis and fast decision-making process.
- Coordinate with procurement, plant, SCM, supplier and resolve the issued related to RM, PM, intermediate and finish goods
What you will bring
- M.Sc in Chemistry, B.Sc in Chemistry, or B.Tech in Chemical Engineering.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in Supplier Quality or Supplier Quality Management within the Chemical, Fertilizer, Pharmaceutical, Explosive, or Industrial sectors.
- At least 3 years of laboratory experience in Chemical Analysis.
- Certified Lead/Internal Auditor for ISO 9001:2015.
- Proficient in Statistical Analysis and Tools (SPC, SQC, Sampling, Root Cause Analysis, etc.).
- Willingness to travel to vendor/supplier locations.
