Virbhu India Pvt Ltd Vadodara (Gujarat), a wholly owned subsidiary of AK Power Solutions (USA), operating in the field of power electronics, has an immediate opening for a Control Simulation & Software Engineer.
The Control Simulation & Software Engineer is responsible for the simulation of power electronic converters based on different topologies along with HIL testing of the converter software. They will be responsible for proving the control topology and algorithm, support the firmware engineers, and support in overall testing of the converter.
Candidates residing in Vadodara will be onsite M-F.
Responsibilities
- Developing -Simulating, coding and testing of control strategies for Power Electronic Converters
- Lead and take ownership of the design and development of modelling and control techniques in both time- and frequency-domain to satisfy the needs of the power converters.
- Development, preparation, and adaptation of simulation models as per project requirement and architecture.
- Hands on setting up, configuring and using Real Time Simulators.
- Writing the application software
- Maintain necessary documents related to model development.
- Management of source code, configuration management and s/w release
- Lead and take ownership of the development of requirement specifications, design specifications and test specifications.
- Lead and take ownership of the validation efforts with high-fidelity computer models in Model-in-the-Loop, Software-in-the-Loop and Hardware-in-the-Loop, using software tools such as MATLAB / Simulink.
- Define, plan, and monitor development activities and their progress.
- Participate in design review meetings, design review meetings and quality processes.
- Contribute in and influence the development of working group activities such as IEEE standards.
Qualifications
- BTech /MTech. in Power Electronics / Electronics & Communication/Electrical.
- Must have experience working in Modeling and Application software for Medium to High Power Electronic Converters.
- Hands on experience for working on Real Time Simulators.
- Embedded SW/firmware development languages like C/C++, Function Block Diagrams, Sequential Function Charts, Structure text, etc for an embedded system product.
- Knowledge on different medium to high power electronics converters and their control strategies
- Knowledge of RTOS and on embedded software test environments and systems, hardware in the loop (Real time simulators (Typhoon, or dSPACE or OpalRT)
- Hands-on experience on Tools like MATLAB, Simulink, PLECS and Configuration management tool (Jira, Serena Dimensions).
- Familiarity with ANSI, IEEE, UL and NEMA standards for Power Electronic Converters Applications.
- Code verification, Code configuration.
- SDLC and Automated Testing using Scripts.
