Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Control-M Scheduler Specialist with 5 to 7 years of experience in managing and troubleshooting Control-M job scheduling processes. The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience in Control-M version 9.0.18 and above and will be responsible for managing batch job schedules, ensuring their efficient execution, and troubleshooting issues as they arise. This role requires a deep understanding of workflow automation, job scheduling, and the ability to provide technical support to resolve job failures in a production environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Job Scheduling & Management: Design, develop, and manage batch job schedules using Control-M, ensuring all batch processes are scheduled efficiently and executed smoothly.
- Monitoring & Troubleshooting: Monitor the execution of scheduled jobs, ensuring successful completion, troubleshooting job failures, and resolving issues quickly.
- Workflow Automation: Implement new batch jobs and workflows based on business requirements while ensuring compatibility with existing systems.
- Support: Provide L2/L3 support for batch job scheduling and execution. Address priority issues related to Control-M, ensuring SLAs are met, and escalate issues to management when necessary.
- Control-M Features: Utilize advanced Control-M features such as Daylight Savings Time adjustments, Mass updates, and reporting facilities.
- Job Types: Experience in managing job types including OS/DB/Web services, and using calendars for critical scheduling scenarios.
- Cross-functional Collaboration: Work with application development and infrastructure support teams to troubleshoot issues, understand job scheduling needs, and ensure optimal performance of batch processes within Control-M.
- Documentation: Document all technical solutions, issues, and resolutions. Ensure timely communication of problems and solutions to the relevant teams.
- SLA Management: Proactively identify and resolve common batch issues, alert support staff to developing problems, and document all issues to ensure continuous improvement.
Qualifications
- Control-M Expertise:
- Extensive hands-on experience in Control-M version 9.0.18 or above.
- Proficiency in scheduling, monitoring, and troubleshooting jobs across development, testing, and production environments.
- Strong understanding of Control-M features like Daylight Savings, Mass updates, and reporting functionalities.
- Technical Skills:
- In-depth knowledge of job types such as OS, DB, and Web services.
- Analytical skills to understand user requirements, and improve existing job flows and scheduling systems.
- Ability to configure and troubleshoot Control-M system issues.
- Soft Skills:
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively within cross-functional teams.
- Strong documentation and problem-solving abilities.
- Proactive attitude towards meeting deadlines and managing changing priorities.
Education & Experience
- Education:
- Bachelor's Degree in Electronics and Communication Engineering or a related technical field (3 years).
- Diploma in Electronics and Communication Engineering (3 years).
- Experience:
- 5 to 7 years of experience in Control-M job scheduling and workflow automation.
- Demonstrated expertise in managing batch workloads in a production environment and resolving scheduling-related issues.
