The Consultant Sports & Fitness will play a crucial role in managing and cultivating a vibrant sports and fitness culture on campus. This position requires collaboration with various stakeholders to enhance the sports activities and ensure its successful implementation.
In this role you will collaborate closely with the Sports and Fitness Committee (SFC) by contributing ideas, assisting in planning, and supporting in execution
Responsibilities:
- Facilitate the formation and guidance of sports coordinator groups, including identifying, training, and mentoring coordinators for each sport.
- Work with the SFC and sports coordinators to organize regular league matches, ensuring fair play, adherence to rules, and proper equipment management.
- Plan and conduct workshops and weekly sessions in collaboration with external faculty, ensuring good participation, attendance recording, and proper facilities.
- Establish and maintain a system for sports equipment inventory, including maintenance, repair, and replenishment as necessary.
- Assist in planning special events, tournaments, and the sports fest in coordination with the SFC.
- Support infrastructure development, assist in communication and social media efforts, and engage with beginners to increase overall participation.
- Mentor sports coordinators and help them develop a holistic approach to sports management.
- Manage sports leagues, including team selection and match attendance.
- Identify and recruit coaches for various sports and session types, coordinate workshop scheduling and attendance tracking.
- Assist in streamlining sports administration on campus for improved efficiency.
This position requires morning and evening and occasional weekend work to support student events and activities.
Qualification and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Sports Management, Physical Education, or related field (Master's preferred).
- Minimum 1 or 2 years of experience in sports management, event planning, and coordination.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with diverse groups.
- Passion for promoting sports and fitness among students.
