Type of employment: Consultant, Full time

Time Commitment: 5 days per week

Duration of contract: 1 year renewable basis performance

About Global Health Strategies

Global Health Strategies (GHS) is a public health organization that works to ensure the delivery of life-saving health products, technologies, and information to those who need them the most. We use policy research, evidence-based communications, program implementation and market entry strategies to address health-related issues that disproportionately impact developing nations and emerging markets. In this endeavor, GHS partners with foundations, industry, NGOs, government agencies and academic institutions.

The Tuberculosis Project

In India, GHS works on several health issues, including tuberculosis (TB). India has the highest number of TB cases in the world, with 2.7 million new TB cases emerging each year with over 445,000 TB deaths a year. GHS works closely with multiple stakeholders of the Indian TB prevention and control landscape, including donor agencies, the National TB elimination Program (NTEP) and Central TB Division (CTD) of the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW), state governments, technical experts, the media, parliamentarians and policymakers.

Location

New Delhi: The incumbent should be open to domestic and international travel if required.

The Role

The project seeks candidates with relevant educational and/or requisite experience for the position of Program Associate. We look for individuals that are passionate about global health and rights, entrepreneurial, innovative, and strategic thinkers with excellent communications and analytical skills. Program Associates are expected to work with their supervisors and support the team by:

  • Conducting desk research for, drafting, and editing communications materials like concept notes, talking points, articles, emails, reports, and other documents, as required
  • Tracking the latest updates from the TB, health, policy, and other landscapes in the media and flagging important updates
  • Operating the projects social media handles (under supervision), tracking, and reporting analytics, and overseeing creative asset design/development (with a designer)
  • Oversee design of collaterals (with the support of a designer) and developing messaging around awareness of the disease
  • Conducting programmatic and administrative tasks in a timely manner; prioritizing and managing their work efficiently and delivering high quality outputs within committed timelines
  • Performing other relevant tasks required by the supervisor

Required Qualifications

  • 2-4 years of work experience
  • Fluent proficiency in English (written and spoken)
  • Communications, public health, or media or public relations/journalism experience and an understanding of policy and related areas (e.g., health, economics etc.)
  • Be well-versed with the media / content amplification via digital media
  • Experience even if very basic to social media marketing: conceptualizing and implementing of marketing strategies, tracking, and reporting analytics, using Google Ads to drive traffic to websites etc would help immensely.
  • Bachelor's/master's degree in a related field
  • Microsoft Office proficiency
  • Advanced Word and PowerPoint skills
  • Excel skills

Required interpersonal and work skills

  • Attention to detail, with a keen eye for formatting and grammar
  • Interest in learning new skills at a fast pace
  • Ability to work within short timelines
