An Optometrist must possess natural passion to render this service with utmost dedication and Holistic manner.
As an Optometrist first & foremost quality is to have a pleasing outlook and compassion with the patient. Listening to their issues most vital. Precise diagnosis and clarity in advising the prescription is very important. Do not scare the patient .
Dress code is a must.
To ascertain the cause of patient's vision impairment or deficiencies and provide a clear solution.
Take time to collect their family history with regard to vision issues, and the most important thing is your user friendly courtesies to give patient a family bond.
Educate the significance of using contact lenses and train them initially in wearing it.
Advise patient the lens adoption time, may it spectacle lens or contact lens.
Also advise the do's & Don'ts of maintaining spectacles / contact lens.
Suggest the patients the type of lens or Frames that suits their vision depending on their nature of work / profession etc..
