JOB OVERVIEW

Function Overview

GIC Sales Strategy & Intelligence team partners with our global General Mills sales teams in providing them with analytical horsepower and enable business continuity so they can focus on core activities - Selling, driving distribution gains and optimizing merchandising plans to deliver sales volume targets. We enable customer, pricing & promotion strategies across the global markets through our focused capabilities of Sales Execution, Trade & Strategic Revenue Management and Category Management. Teams within function are aligned to the above focused capabilities for each of our markets and each team member specializes in domains of Advanced Analytics, Visual Insights & Planogramming.

Purpose of the role

The role will be responsible to work on and manage a team purposed to partner with the Category Management teams in US markets. The team member will build a seamless rapport with the point of contact overseas, address and initiate business requests, establish solutions through sophisticated reporting/ tool building, superior presentations/visuals; the work completed will be sent with an actionable analysis that showcases depth & breadth of business acumen to enable growth of our distribution goals for the products & categories.

The role will also lead the team supporting Planogram capabilities for Captaincy categories and should act as a Subject Matter Expert on shelf layout and design principles and has good experience on softwares like JDA, Apollo & Shelf IQ.

The AM must have a strong grasp of alternatives and use thought leadership to make calculated decisions to influence how projects & capabilities shape up - this includes leveraging well-conceived proof of concepts, drive standardization & excellent Stakeholder Management.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

Advance Capabilities (30% of the time)

  • Accelerate engagement with Omni Category Management teams by displaying strong stakeholder management skills
  • Marketing & cross selling capabilities at organizational forums
  • Build new capabilities & reporting solutions leveraging Syndicated data sources like Nielsen, IRI & customer POS data
  • Advance Planogram capabilities through automation & efficiency for driving scale within the team
  • Become an SME and partner with other experts to eliminate market knowledge gaps & drive success through collaboration.

Operational & Executional Excellence (40% of the time)

  • Align with Senior Leadership and team's vision to effectively manage the annual performance cycle & employee careers within team
  • Adept at resource allocation, utilization & capacity management
  • Maintain highest level of timeliness and accuracy in all service delivery
  • Effective stakeholder management to deliver high level of customer satisfaction
  • Building effective process planning & tracking mechanisms
  • Enable standardization across different processes/markets within and across verticals
  • Contribute towards increasing the process/capability maturity
  • 100% compliance to Business Continuity Plan (BCP) & Crisis Management readiness

Inculcate Continuous Improvement Mindset (30% of the time)

  • Collaborate across boundaries in real time to learn and implement best-in-class techniques, pre-existing solutions, tools, platforms etc.
  • Maintain a lens of continuous improvement for the projects, process & larger team - cross functional lens and overseas partnership included
  • Design trainings based on needs of the team around key concepts, skills and applications and drive execution
  • Develop SMEs within the team (including self) and secure cost savings by driving process transformation
  • Participate actively in organizational initiatives and represent the function
  • Collaborate across the organization to identify synergies, drive standardization & create HMM

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Education - Full time graduation from an accredited university
  • Minimum Degree Requirements: Bachelors
  • Minimum years of related experience required: 4 - 6 years of Reporting, Analytics & Planogram experience in Category Management within CPG industry with People and Career Management experience, minimum 1 yr. of direct people management (team size 3-5)

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Preferred Degree Requirements: Masters
  • Preferred Major Area of Study: Business Management, Marketing, Retail
  • Preferred years of related experience: 5 - 8 years of Reporting, Analytics & Planogram experience in Category Management within CPG industry with People and Career Management experience, 3 yrs of direct people management
