Job Title: Construction Manager - Infrastructure Projects

Job Description:

We are currently seeking a highly qualified and experienced Construction Manager to oversee infrastructure projects, with a focus on Urban Infrastructure Works. The ideal candidate will have a Graduate Degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Public Health Engineering, or Construction Management. With a minimum of 15 years of experience in Construction Management of Infrastructure Projects, the candidate should possess strong knowledge and expertise in project supervision and management.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Manage and oversee all aspects of construction activities for infrastructure projects, ensuring compliance with project specifications, schedules, and budgetary constraints.
2. Provide leadership and direction to construction teams, subcontractors, and vendors, fostering a collaborative and results-oriented work environment.
3. Ensure adherence to FIDIC Conditions of Contract and other relevant contractual obligations throughout the project lifecycle.
4. Utilize latest software tools such as Primavera for project planning, scheduling, and monitoring, optimizing resource allocation and project efficiency.
5. Coordinate with project stakeholders, including clients, consultants, regulatory authorities, and community representatives, to address concerns and ensure smooth project execution.
6. Conduct regular site inspections and quality audits to verify compliance with engineering standards, safety regulations, and environmental requirements.
7. Prepare and review project documentation, including progress reports, cost estimates, change orders, and other contractual deliverables.
8. Mitigate project risks and issues through proactive identification, analysis, and implementation of appropriate mitigation measures.
9. Monitor and control project expenditures, tracking costs against budget allocations and initiating corrective actions as needed.
10. Stay abreast of industry trends, best practices, and technological advancements in construction management, incorporating relevant innovations into project strategies.

Qualifications and Experience:

1. Graduate Degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Public Health Engineering, or Construction Management.
2. Minimum of 15 years of experience in Construction Management of Infrastructure Projects, with a focus on Urban Infrastructure Works.
3. Sound knowledge of FIDIC Conditions of Contract and other relevant contractual frameworks.
4. At least 8 years of experience working on externally aided infrastructure projects, demonstrating a strong understanding of international project management standards.
5. Proficiency in project planning software such as Primavera, with the ability to develop comprehensive construction schedules and timelines.
6. International experience in similar roles or projects would be advantageous.
7. Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with diverse stakeholders.
8. Excellent problem-solving abilities, with a keen attention to detail and a proactive approach to resolving issues.
9. Demonstrated commitment to safety, quality, and sustainability in construction practices.
10. Professional certifications or affiliations related to construction management or engineering would be desirable.
