- Cost Estimation: Analyze project specifications, blueprints, and other construction documents to estimate the costs of labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractor services required for the project
- Quantity Takeoffs: Perform quantity takeoffs, which involve quantifying the amount of materials and labor needed for each aspect of the construction project
- Pricing and Bidding: Source pricing for materials and subcontractor services, solicit and compare bids, and negotiate with suppliers and subcontractors to secure favorable terms and prices
- Cost Database Management: Maintain a database of historical cost data to support accurate estimating and track cost trends over time
- Budget Development: Collaborate with project managers and clients to develop project budgets, taking into account various cost elements and contingencies
- Value Engineering: Identify cost-saving and value-adding opportunities to optimize the project's financial efficiency
- Cost Analysis: Analyze cost breakdowns, identify cost drivers, and assess project risks and uncertainties
- Proposal Preparation: Prepare detailed cost proposals and estimates, including comprehensive documentation of assumptions, methodologies, and cost justifications
- Change Order Evaluation: Evaluate change orders and modifications to existing construction projects, providing cost assessments and recommendations
