Position: Manager - Consolidation

Experience: 3-4 years of post-qualification experience in a Big 4 firm

Qualification: Chartered Accountant

Job Summary

We are looking for a meticulous Financial Statement Consolidation Specialist to manage the preparation, consolidation, and analysis of financial statements. The ideal candidate will have 3-4 years of post-qualification experience in a Big 4 firm, with strong expertise in accounting standards, consolidation practices, and financial reporting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the consolidation of financial statements across various subsidiaries and business units, ensuring alignment with accounting standards (e.g., IFRS, GAAP).
  • Oversee the reconciliation process, including eliminations and adjustments, to provide accurate consolidated financial data.
  • Coordinate with subsidiaries and finance teams to ensure timely and accurate data submission for consolidation purposes.
  • Prepare consolidated monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
  • Assist in preparing reports for stakeholders, including management and external parties, ensuring clarity and accuracy.
  • Support financial disclosures and footnotes for consolidated statements, aligning with statutory and regulatory requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards and regulatory requirements in financial reporting.
  • Stay current with changes in accounting standards and assess their impact on the consolidation process.
  • Provide guidance on consolidation policies and ensure consistent application across all entities.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for auditors on consolidation-related matters, providing documentation and responding to queries.
  • Prepare consolidated schedules and support documents for external and internal audits, ensuring audit requirements are met.
  • Address audit findings and implement improvements to the consolidation and reporting process.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance the efficiency and accuracy of the consolidation process.
  • Develop and maintain consolidation models and templates for streamlined financial reporting.

Key Skills and Requirements

  • Technical Expertise: Strong knowledge of consolidation practices, IFRS/GAAP standards, and financial reporting.
  • Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze complex data sets, perform reconciliations, and identify discrepancies.
  • Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy in financial reporting and consolidations.
  • Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills for collaboration with multiple stakeholders.
  • Team Collaboration: Ability to work cross-functionally and manage consolidation timelines effectively.

Preferred Experience

  • 3-4 years of experience in financial statement consolidation, preferably in a Big 4 firm post-qualification.
