Job Title:
Computer Hardware/Software Repair Technician
We are seeking a skilled and highly motivated Computer Hardware/Software Repair Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for diagnosing and repairing hardware and software issues in a variety of computer systems. This role requires a strong understanding of computer components, troubleshooting techniques, and software installations. The individual in this position should be detail-oriented, customer-focused, and able to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Diagnosis and Repair: Identify and resolve hardware and software issues in desktops, laptops, and other computer systems. Replace or repair faulty components and install necessary drivers and software updates.
- Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance tasks to ensure the optimal performance of computer systems, including cleaning, updating, and upgrading hardware and software as needed.
- Technical Support: Provide technical support to end-users by addressing their inquiries and troubleshooting issues via phone, email, or in person. Offer guidance and recommendations to prevent future problems.
- Documentation: Maintain detailed records of all repairs, parts used, and customer interactions. Generate repair reports and maintain an accurate inventory of spare parts and components.
- Software Installation: Install and configure operating systems, applications, and utilities, ensuring that software licenses and compliance are adhered to.
- Customer Service: Deliver exceptional customer service, ensuring customers are well-informed about the repair process, estimated costs, and expected completion times. Keep customers updated throughout the repair process.
- Quality Assurance: Conduct quality control checks to ensure that repaired systems are functioning correctly and meet quality standards before returning them to customers.
- Problem Solving: Analyze complex hardware and software issues, research solutions, and implement effective problem-solving techniques to resolve technical problems efficiently.
- Continuous Learning: Stay updated on the latest hardware and software technologies and industry trends. Attend training sessions and workshops to improve skills and knowledge.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent. A relevant technical certification or associate's degree in computer science or a related field is a plus.
- Proven experience in computer hardware and software repair, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
- Proficiency in diagnosing and repairing issues with desktops, laptops, printers, and other computer peripherals.
- Strong knowledge of operating systems, including Windows, macOS, and Linux.
- Familiarity with a wide range of software applications and the ability to install, update, and troubleshoot them.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Attention to detail and ability to work with precision.
