Key Responsibilities
As a CFRP specialist, the candidate will be also responsible for design engineering, simulation, testing, execution, implementation to ensure seamless integration within overall product development roadmap.
As a Composite Design Engineer, you will be a pivotal member of our engineering team, responsible for shaping the future of composite design and manufacturing. Your expertise will drive the creation of CAD models, drawing definitions, tooling designs, and product specifications, Bill of Materials (BOM) ensuring our products meet the highest standards of quality and performance.
Generate CAD models and precise drawing definitions, ensuring accuracy and compliance with design standards and specifications.
Design Mould tools, jigs, and fixtures for composite manufacturing processes, optimizing efficiency and quality.
Develop and maintain Design Standards and Product Specifications, ensuring consistency and compliance across projects.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to generate accurate BOM for products, sub-assemblies and components.
Utilize FEA and CFD simulations to assess the structural and thermal performance of composite designs.
Investigate failure mechanisms and analyze root causes to enhance design reliability and durability.
Implement Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA) principles to optimize production processes.
Work closely with manufacturing teams to ensure a seamless transition from design to production.
Participate in design reviews and provide technical expertise to contribute to the overall success of projects.
The candidate will be required to work closely with internal teams as well as research organizations and manufacturers to identify technical gaps/challenges of carbon fiber reinforced plastic in the targeted applications.
This will include, but not limited to, conducting technical feasibility studies, designing R&D strategies, launching research projects, and engaging with external partners to advance the technology readiness level of the targeted development.
Moreover, the candidate is expected to train young scientists/engineers, while keeping abreast with the engineering and scientific developments of conventional/advanced manufacturing processes of composites.
Minimum Requirements
The candidate needs to hold a PhD in Materials Science, MTech in Mechanical Engineering or Polymer processing or Good Bachelor, Master and/or PhD in Aerospace, Mechanical, Product Design Engineering, or similar. Experience in UAV, Aerospace, Defense, Automotive, Marine industry, or similar.
The candidate should have 2-3 years of R&D experience in composite development including at least five years in the field of CFRP processing.
Able to work closely with partners to integrate the developed technologies in real-world applications in collaboration with OEMs
Must have the ability to publish papers in highly recognized journals, present research outcomes in international events and grant patents based on novel research results
Understanding of Engineering principles and proven experience in running FEA and CFD simulations. Understanding of Design, Analysis and Failure Mechanism in FRP Composite Structures.
Able to work under minimal supervision while ensuring good communication is maintained with stakeholders.
