What You'll Do
As a Compliance and Employee Relations Leader in India, you would be playing a crucial role in ensuring that the organization adheres to all relevant laws, regulations, and internal policies while fostering a positive work environment.
What We're Looking For (Responsibilities / Accountabilities)
Compliance Management
- Regulatory Adherence: Ensure the organization complies with all local, state, and federal regulations, including labor laws, safety standards, and industry-specific requirements for the region / country (countries).
- Policy Development: Develop and implement comprehensive compliance policies and procedures to mitigate legal risks while partnering with global policy governance groups / COE's.
- Audits and Reporting: Conduct regular audits and prepare compliance reports for senior management and regulatory bodies.
Employee Relations
- Conflict Resolution: Address and resolve employee grievances and conflicts in a fair and timely manner.
- Workplace Culture: Promote a positive and inclusive workplace culture through various initiatives and programs.
- Training and Development: Organize training sessions to educate employees about compliance requirements and ethical practices
- Coaching, guiding and supporting plant level long term settlements.
- Driving standard processes in contract labor management.
Strategic Leadership
- Collaboration: Work closely with HR Partners / CoEs, legal, and other departments to ensure cohesive compliance and employee relations strategies.
- Risk Management: Identify potential compliance risks and develop strategies to mitigate them.
- Continuous Improvement: Stay updated with the latest regulatory changes and industry best practices to continuously improve compliance and employee relations processes.
Welfare Officer Responsibilities (Factory Premises in Maharashtra)
- Monitoring and Supervision on Welfare activities; Canteen, Floor round, medical facility.
- Facilitate Arrange Committee meetings; Works Committee, Safety committee, Canteen committee
- Prepare and implement various letters formats registers as per needs.
- Support HRP in Coordinating between Workers & management. Handling Government Offices.
- Update required documents as per compliance. Counselling & Training for the workers on general issues like company rules & regulation, policies, Company discipline, Code of conduct etc.
- Follow and be compliant with the duties of the welfare of officer as stated in The Mah Welfare Officer Rules, 1966
Skills That Make a Difference
- Several years (7+years) of experience in compliance, employee relations, or a related field is essential. Experience in regulatory compliance, risk management, or corporate governance is particularly valuable.
- Experience in regional labor laws and labor / union litigation matters.
- Degree of Diploma in Labor welfare or any other qualification specified in the Maharashtra Welfare officers (duties, qualifications and conditions of service) rules, 1966.
- Proven experience in a Mid-level leadership role, managing teams, and developing compliance strategies.
