About the Organisation:

CINI is a 50 years old non-profit, non-government organisation (NGO) registered under the Societies Registration Act, 1860 in India. Over more than five decades, we have been partnering with central and state government, national and international donors, non-government organisations and local communities to strengthen the capacity of deprived children and women to improve their health, nutrition, education and protection conditions. Distilling international and national experience, we seek to learn from the poor to improve our interventions in under-serviced rural and urban areas. We aim at strengthening local governance processes that give marginalised and poor communities a voice and influence national policy. Founded in 1974, Child in Need Institute (CINI) with an experience of 50 years, reaches out to over 7 million population in the states of West Bengal, Jharkhand, Odisha, Assam, Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh. CINI has been working in Jharkhand since 2002 and is recognized as one of the Technical Support Agency, extending support to the Department of Health & Family Welfare, Department of Women, Child Development & Social Security, Department of Youth, Culture and Sports, Department of Labour, Employment, Training & Skill Development and Department of School Education & Literacy.

  • Experience:
At-least 3 years of working in the community with any grassroots level organizations
  • Experience of working in child protection program
Preference to candidates having the experience of working closely with government system
  • Documentation and Communication skills in Hindi
Community Mobilization and rapport building skills
  • Working knowledge on community issues, Child Protection, acts and child friendly policies
Experience in working with children and scheme linkages.
  • Experience of working with individual cases of children for case work
Proven liasoning and knowledge of the government services, departments and schemes for case linkages
  • Qualification:
Bachelor's degree (Masters preferred) in public health, demography, statistics, social sciences, economics, international development, or related field or equivalent experience.
  • A minimum of 5 years progressive responsibility with developmental organizations and experience in MEL for development programs, including developing performance management plans, developing indicators and targets, conducting evaluations, and reporting on project activities.
  • Location:Ranchi (7 positions), Gumla (7 positions), Khunti (7 positions)
  • Job Description:
  • (a) Support to Ongoing community-based meetings
Facilitate these meetings on a monthly basis
  • Roll out the action plans developed in these meetings
Child tracking, linking and follow ups
  • CNCP identification and planning intervention per child with CBOs
Conduct baseline, follow-ups and tracking
  • Mobilizing communities for meetings and follow ups
Strengthening the convergent forums on issues of children protection and disability
  • (b) Gram Sabha Sensitization on CP
Attending Gram Sabha/Aam Sabha meetings for sensitizing people on CP
  • Addressing parenting issues.
Exploring provisions for developing child budget for child protection at gram sabha/panchayat level
  • Expected travel: Candidate is expected to travel to program intervention villages/slums of the concerned districts for community level work for around 15-20 days every month
  • Cost to Organization:- INR 15,000/- per Month
