- Position Overview: We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Commis Trainee to join our dynamic team at Cozy Caf in Kochi. This entry-level position is perfect for someone eager to learn the culinary arts and gain hands-on experience in a vibrant caf setting. As a Commis Trainee, you will work closely with our experienced kitchen staff to support food preparation, ensure kitchen hygiene, and contribute to the overall success of our caf.
- Roles and Responsibilities:
Food Preparation:
- Assist in the preparation and cooking of food items according to the cafs recipes and standards.
Help in assembling and plating dishes, ensuring they are presented in an appealing manner.
Aid in the daily preparation of ingredients for the kitchen to ensure smooth operations.- Support senior chefs and kitchen staff with various tasks as directed, including chopping vegetables, measuring ingredients, and setting up cooking stations.
Hygiene and Safety:- Maintain a clean and organized work environment, adhering to food safety and hygiene standards.
Follow proper procedures for handling and storing food items to prevent contamination.Inventory Management:
Report any shortages or quality issues to the kitchen supervisor.
- Learning and Development:
Show willingness to learn new techniques and take on new responsibilities as you progress in your role.Customer Service:
Occasionally assist front-of-house staff with serving or food delivery to ensure excellent customer experience.
- Address any customer concerns or feedback politely and promptly.
Team Collaboration:
- Work effectively as part of the kitchen team, contributing to a positive and cooperative work environment.
Communicate clearly and respectfully with colleagues and supervisors.
- - Any Degree with Hospitality Management.
Basic understanding of cooking techniques and kitchen equipment is an advantage, but not required.- Enthusiasm for working in a fast-paced caf environment and a strong willingness to learn.
Good communication skills and the ability to follow instructions accurately.
