As a Corporate Finance Analyst, you will be responsible for analysing key business performance metrics and identifying internal organic performance improvement opportunities. Additionally, you will work with the SVP Finance, Tax and Treasury, VP of FP&A and VP Capital Investment and Property to work on five-year plans, monthly reporting, budgeting, tax and treasury projects, capital investment plans, separation project matters, resource planning issues as well as potential acquisitions and divestments. As someone with strong financial acumen and the ability to turn numbers into insights, you will be a pivotal team member expected to help maximize shareholder value.
Main Responsibilities
- Provide executives with clear insights on drivers of business growth, risks, and opportunities.
- Gather and assess financial results. Prepare financial reporting deliverables and explain trends and business drivers. Uncover areas that are underperforming.
- Work closely with business Solutions team to ensure streamlined forecasting/Budgeting process (i.e. create EPM/SmartView templates for Reporting/Budgeting)
- Determine appropriate valuations of investment projects through detailed analysis (e.g., modelling ROI, IRR, payback period).
- Develop and maintain the Woodmac five-year plan
- Strive for increased shareholder value through your internal and external assessments and recommendations
About You
- A bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or similar is ideal but will consider different undergraduate qualifications.
- Qualified accountant or MBA helpful
- 5+ years of financial analysis experience in finance team, banking, management consulting, financial planning, and/or corporate strategy
- Experience creating financial models within a corporate setting
- Experience developing analytical frameworks and communicating financial concepts
- The ability to spot patterns from numbers
- Experience using Oracle EPM Planning tool/Smart View helpful
