We are seeking an experienced Collections Manager with 5-7 years of expertise in managing collections within the lending or NBFC space. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in overseeing field collections teams and managing cases from pre-due until recoveries, majorly for high ticket sizes.
Roles & Responsibilities:
- Oversee Collections Strategy: Develop and execute collections strategies for managing delinquency across buckets through field collections
- Field Visits: the majority of the time should be spent on the field, to visit cases personally and/or with the team
- Team Management: Lead and mentor a team of collection executives, providing guidance, training, and support to ensure the achievement of recovery targets
- Field Collections Oversight: Coordinate field collections activities, ensuring efficient handling of high-risk cases and escalations while maintaining compliance with company policies
- Monitor & Analyze Performance: Track and analyze key metrics such as recovery rates, delinquency trends, and team performance, providing regular updates to senior management
- Customer Relationship Management: Handle escalated customer interactions, negotiating payment plans and settlements to ensure smooth resolution of overdue accounts
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with credit, legal, and operations teams to align on strategies, ensure compliance with regulatory guidelines, and resolve complex cases
- Reporting Documentation: Maintain accurate records of collections activities and prepare detailed reports on performance, challenges, and recovery progress
- Manage/Liaison with Authorities: Should be able to manage the execution of warrants, a good network and connection with local authorities will be an added advantage
Requirements
- Experience: 5-7 years of experience in collections within the lending or NBFC industry, with at least 2 years in a managerial role
- Field Collections Experience: Experience managing field collections activities and dealing with high-risk accounts are preferred
- Technology Proficiency: Familiarity with collections management software and MS Office tools (Excel, Word)
- Integrity & Compliance: Should be aware of RBI guidelines and compliances related to collections/recoveries while dealing with customers with the utmost integrity
