Tillotoma Foundation is looking for Coding Intern to join our dynamic team and embark on a rewarding career journey.Medical Coding: Assign accurate diagnostic codes (ICD-10-CM) and procedural codes (CPT or HCPCS Level II) to patient medical records and encounters.
Data Abstraction: Extract relevant information from patient records, including physician notes, laboratory results, and radiology reports, to assign appropriate codes.
Compliance: Ensure coding accuracy and adherence to coding guidelines, regulations, and coding standards, such as ICD-10-CM and CPT guidelines.
Documentation Improvement: Collaborate with healthcare providers to improve the quality and specificity of clinical documentation to support accurate coding and billing.
Claims Processing: Play a crucial role in the medical billing process by providing correctly coded information to submit insurance claims and receive reimbursement.
Coding Audits: Perform coding audits to identify discrepancies or errors in coding practices, providing feedback to coders and addressing compliance issues.
Coding Software: Utilize electronic health record (EHR) systems and coding software for efficient coding and documentation.
