Role Description
This is a full-time on-site role for Coastal Engineers located in Chennai. The Coastal Engineer will be responsible for mathematical modelling for coastal infrastructure projects with experience in
- Tidal hydrodynamics, waves, sediment transport and storm surges using tools such as DELFT3D, TELEMAC, MIKE21, etc. Knowledge of field measurements in the coastal environment is also desirable.
- Mooring analysis for ships using tools such as OPTIMOOR
Requirements
Qualifications
- Coastal Processes, Coastal Engineering, Naval Architecture, and Water Resource Management skills
- Experience in coastal infrastructure projects with natural and man-made harbours, coastal protection, shoreline management
- Knowledge of environmental regulations and sustainability practices
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
- Experience with coastal modelling software and tools
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Coastal Engineering, Naval Architecture or a related field
- Master's degree in Coastal Engineering or a related discipline is preferred
Experience
- 2+ years of professional experience in mathematical modelling of coastal processes / mooring analysis.
- Experience in the coastal infrastructure projects involving breakwaters, shore protection, dredging is desirable.
- Experience in mooring analysis of ships at berth
Skills
- Proficiency in use of mathematical modelling tools such as DELFT3D, TELEMAC, MIKE21, OPTIMOOR, etc and MS Office.
- Working knowledge of programming using C++, Python, MATLAB
- Knowledge of field measurements in the coastal environment is also desirable.
- Strong analytical and presentation skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Team player with strong interpersonal skills.
- Inclination for technical excellence, individual judgment, and initiative for enhancement of skills and knowledge.
