Job Overview:
We're looking for a seasoned Cloud Operations Leader with a strong background in IT systems management, cloud operations, and production support. The ideal candidate will have 12+ years of IT experience, including 6+ years in cloud environments and a minimum of 3 years in production operations. This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for managing cloud services availability and reliability while driving operational excellence across production environments.
Key Responsibilities:
Leadership & Team Management:
- Lead and mentor a cloud operations team.
- Ensure efficient cloud infrastructure management.
- Develop strategies to enhance performance, security, and cost efficiency.
- Drive process improvements to ensure scalability and high availability.
Cloud Operations:
- Oversee cloud environments (AWS) for performance, availability, and security.
- Ensure proper management of containers, microservices, and Kubernetes.
- Ensure compliance with security policies and regulations.
- Drive continuous improvements.
Production Operations & Support:
- Manage incident response and service restoration for production environments.
- Implement monitoring, alerting, and reporting tools.
- Collaborate with development, security, and product teams to meet SLAs.
Stakeholder Management:
- Serve as a key point of contact for cloud performance and operational metrics.
- Build strong vendor relationships and provide regular performance updates to leadership.
Required Qualifications:
- 12+ years of IT experience with 6+ years in cloud operations (AWS).
- 3+ years in production operations for globally distributed cloud infrastructure.
- Proven leadership in technical team management.
- Hands-on experience with AWS services (VPC, EC2, S3, Kubernetes, etc.).
- Strong knowledge of DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, and Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation).
- Familiarity with monitoring/log management tools (CloudWatch, Prometheus, ELK, Grafana).
Preferred Qualifications:
- AWS certifications (Solutions Architect, DevOps Engineer, etc.).
- Experience in regulated industries and high-availability systems.
- Multi-cloud and hybrid cloud experience.
