Cloud Engineer

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled Cloud Engineer to join our team and lead the migration of our infrastructure from on-premises or another cloud platform (AWS) to Microsoft Azure. You will play a critical role in ensuring a smooth and efficient transition, minimizing downtime and maximizing cost optimization.

Responsibilities:

• Assess and analyze our current on-premises or existing cloud environment (AWS), including resources, configurations, and dependencies.
• Design and develop a comprehensive migration plan for transitioning workloads to Azure.
• Select appropriate Azure services and resources to replicate functionality from the source environment.
• Perform secure data migration using industry best practices.
• Configure and manage cloud infrastructure on Azure, including virtual machines, storage, networking, and security services.
• Automate infrastructure provisioning and deployment using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Azure Resource Manager (ARM) templates or Bicep.
• Monitor and optimize cloud resource utilization to ensure cost-effectiveness.
• Troubleshoot and resolve cloud-related issues during and after migration.
• Document the entire migration process for future reference.
• Collaborate with development and operations teams to ensure a smooth transition.

Qualifications:

• Proven experience in cloud migration, specifically to Microsoft Azure.
• In-depth knowledge of Azure services (e.g., VMs, Azure AD, Storage) and strong understanding of on-premises infrastructure or the existing cloud platform (AWS).
• Strong understanding of cloud security best practices.
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Azure Resource Manager (ARM) templates or Bicep.
• Excellent scripting skills (e.g., Bash, Python).
• Experience with Azure automation tools (e.g., Azure Automation).
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Bonus points:

• Experience with Azure cost optimization tools.
• Certifications in Microsoft Azure (e.g., Microsoft Azure Solutions Architect Expert).
