Summary:
The Clearing House Development Analyst will work in the Clearing App Dev team with analysis, development, and user acceptance testing for CME Clearing's Applications (such as Fusion Risk etc.) and Databases (such as FO DB & Brooklyn DB) including data sanity, maintenance, and performance tuning. Responsibilities include requirements gathering, development of database procedures, GCP migration, adhoc code in Python, Java , adherence to CME Group security policies and practices.
Principal Accountabilities:
- Demonstrating technical DB skills and gain knowledge of the FO & Brooklyn/MR databases, Fusion Risk & CLR applications.
- GCP migration of FO & Brooklyn / MR databases and Fusion Risk Database.
- The incumbent is also responsible for the creation of logical and physical database structures, proposing and implementing a reliable, optimized database design to meet required SLAs.
- Self and encourage team to participate in sprint and corresponding POD sync ups, provide feedback in PI Retrospectives to reflect on progress, improvement, opportunities, and outcomes.
- Maintains a deep understanding of the competitive landscape, emerging trends, and new
technologies that may impact the goals or business.
- Think strategically and tactically, to design and implement deliverables, with the
flexibility to adjust to new innovations, regulations, and priorities.
Skills & Software Requirements:
- Strong knowledge in SQL/Oracle, database modeling and tuning.
- Good knowledge of PostgreSQL, Oracle SQL is required.
UC4 is a plus. Proficiency with OOP in Java, C++ is beneficial.
- Proven ability to develop database design and code with minimum supervision.
- Knowledge on JIRA management and agile methodology. Knowledge of operating on
Google Cloud Infrastructure.
- Able to work in a fast-paced environment. Multitasking and attention to detail are
critical
- Strong communication skills.
- Strong organization skills and an ability to work independently.
Education:
- Bachelor's degree is required in a technical discipline, but a master's degree is preferred
in the following disciplines- Software Engineering.
- Work Experience- 4+ years in industry related experience and at least 3+ years in database development is desired.
