CITRIX Engineer - System Admin
Job Description:
Must support a collaborative work environment in the IT operations especially with the peers of the datacenter-, client-, enterprise-, automation and network-teams and the business customers to implement new services and maintain the core software infrastructure in an effective manner. S/he is responsible to maintain, design and support different CITRIX farms. Daily interaction with business-customers, helping them to bring documentation of Business application in optimal state. The engineer should also have a solid understanding of personalization strategies and best practices as it relates to Citrix virtual apps and Desktops. The CITRIX System Engineer is also part of a team supporting the extended Center of Excellence Data Center (CoE) team for architectural design to meet business application requirements and to serve and protect applications and data as well as Virtualization technologies.
Overall main tasks:
Perform implementation and operation support for Citrix XenApp 7.X Citrix Netscaler 13, Store Front 3.X Access Gateway feature, Citrix Streaming technology, Citrix VDI, MS Server 2012R2 and above, MS Desktop OS and Hyper-V.
Work with customers to adapt the software subsystems and engineer new functionality as required for the requested services
Collaborate with the Datacenter Engineers and Ops team to ensure the infrastructure allows the existing services to perform to the desired service level agreement.
Contributes to the creation and evolution (lifecycle management) of datacenter services such as virtual servers, data protection/backup, database, etc.
Assist and collaborate with the global CoE's , including the Operations Offshore team to assure having every system working in optimal shape.
Basic server and storage provisioning tasks in collaboration with the external providers
Installation, configuration, uninstallation and diagnostics of software solutions including but not limited to operating systems, virtualization application (server, storage and desktops), backup- and archive-software, MS SQL databases
IIS Configuration, including Sites, Certificates, Application Pool, etc
Assist the datacenter operations as needed with server, DB and storage patching during the monthly maintenance windows
Datacenter incident, environmental, capacity and performance monitoring against defined classification and reference architecture
Working with the customers to design, update, and implement new and current solutions within the approved reference architecture and classification model
Supports the implementation of procedure changes
Creates and maintains the Standard Operating Procedures (S.O.P.s) for the internal datacenter processes.
Creates and maintains Qualification Documents in conjunction with the business entities.
Skills and Qualifications:
Solid and proven experience in CITRIX environments, VDI is a must.
Project realization oriented
Excellent Social skills, capable set agreements with the different business entities within the organization
Capable to understand complex IT environments from end-to-end.
Windows 3rd Level support engineer.
Long experience in Server administration
Strong knowhow in Windows OS and Windows Server and business applications (Preferable MS Certifications)
Good understanding in Active Directory, and related Structure (GPO, Users Creation/ Deletion, etc.)
Familiar with Microsoft System Center Products
Basic understanding of Network and hardware topics.
Strong knowledge in virtual environments (Hyper-V and VMware).
Strong knowhow in Backup and restoring best practices.
Comfortable managing projects and solving issues at the same time.
Good skills with Powershell is a benefit.
Citrix Policies, UPM configuration
Fluent skills in English (vocal and written) is a requirement.
