AIMEE International School is dedicated to providing a stimulating and inquiry-driven education. We are currently seeking an experienced and innovative Chemistry (IGCSE) Teacher for grades 8, 9 and 10 who is passionate about fostering critical thinking and problem-solving skills through inquiry-based teaching.
Responsibilities
Inquiry-Based Instruction:
- Utilize innovative and effective teaching strategies to make Chemistry concepts accessible and engaging for students.
- Create a dynamic and interactive classroom environment that encourages student participation and inquiry.
- Integrate real-world examples and applications to make Chemistry concepts relevant and applicable.
Assessment and Feedback:
- Develop and administer assessments to evaluate students comprehension of Chemistry concepts.
- Provide constructive feedback to students, enabling continuous improvement in their understanding and performance.
Integration with Technology:
- Integrate age-appropriate technology tools and resources to enhance the inquiry-based learning experience.
- Explore innovative ways to use technology in scientific instruction to facilitate understanding and application.
Collaboration:
- Collaborate with colleagues to create cross-disciplinary connections and integrate Chemistry with other subjects.
- Share insights and strategies related to inquiry-based teaching with fellow educators.
Professional Development:
- Stay abreast of the latest developments in scientific education and inquiry-based teaching methodologies.
- Engage in ongoing professional development to continuously enhance teaching practices.
Qualifications:
- A bachelor's or Master's degree in Chemistry, Education, or a related field. A teaching qualification is preferred.
- Proven experience in teaching Chemistry at the elementary school level, with a focus on inquiry-based methodologies.
- Familiarity with the integration of technology in elementary scientific instruction.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organisational skills.
Additional Expectations
- Interested candidates should ideally be willing to commit to a minimum of two years.
